Mr. Cheng-Wen Wu (second from left) is the first biologist to discover that key enzymes and transcription factors involved in gene expression contain intrinsic zinc. Along with his wife, Ying-Xue Wu Chen (right), he returned to Taiwan to contribute his expertise and organized a stable research team for the Institute of Biomedical Sciences.
