On February 24, 2022, the war in Ukraine broke out. In the name of humanitarian aid, Academia Sinica, along with the Ministry of Science and Technology and the Ministry of Education, launched the "Taiwan Scholarships for Ukrainian Students and Scholars" on March 16, 2022, providing scholarships to Ukrainian students (including undergraduate and graduate students) and scholars with doctoral degrees to continue their studies in Taiwan.
