Academia Sinica Inaugurated the “Academia Sinica Lecture” Series in 2009 for Leading Scientists to Share Their Research Achievements

In 2008, Academia Sinica celebrated its 80th anniversary. To mark this significant milestone, Academia Sinica organized the “Academy Presidents’ Forum” and invited Presidents of the Academy of Sciences from all over the world to discuss about the future of the world’s Academies. To keep the spirit of the Forum alive, and help to propel the spirit of research and free exchange of scholarly knowledge established at the Forum, in 2009 Academia Sinica inaugurated the “Academia Sinica Lecture” series by which top scholars from all over the world are invited to the campus to share their knowledge in areas that intersect with the important discoveries of Academia Sinica. It is hoped that the lectures will help to break down the academic boundaries of research fields and inspire the next generation of scholars to “learn from the masters.”
