In the initial planning and construction phase of the research building of the Institute of Atomic and Molecular Sciences, the primary purpose was to study the dynamics and changes in various parameters of atomic and molecular structures and collision reactions. This fundamental scientific research area was intended to foster academic collaboration with related departments at the university, such as Physics, Chemistry, and Electrical Engineering, strengthening academic exchange and enabling collective research opportunities. Consequently, the site was established within the main campus of National Taiwan University, with the building officially opening in 1986. The photo was taken in 2022.
