Groundbreaking Ceremony for the Single and Scholar Residence (Including the Western Cuisine Restaurant) in 1996

At the encouragement of President Yuan-Tseh Lee, the Republic of China Architectural Investment Association donated funds for the construction of the Scholar Residence at Academia Sinica (located behind the Activity Center, including a Western cuisine restaurant). The groundbreaking ceremony took place on July 1, 1996, at 2 p.m., with architect Hsiang-Hung Liu (second from left in the front row), Minister of Justice Cheng-Hao Liao (third from right in the front row), President Yuan-Tseh Lee (middle), and Chairman Nan-Tian Chuang of Prince Construction (second from right in the front row) jointly presiding over the event.
