The original greenhouse of the Institute of Botany (White Building) was completed in 1991, including the transgenic plant laboratory to support various institutes within Academia Sinica in conducting research on the induction and propagation of transgenic plants. Currently, it serves as laboratories and offices for the Agricultural Biotechnology Research Center, with the basement designated as the Herbarium.
