In June, 2005, at the inauguration ceremony of the Chang Chau-Ting Memorial Hall at the Institute of Atomic and Molecular Sciences, President Yuan-Tseh Lee (first on the right) stood gazing at a photo of his college roommate Chau-Ting Chang, lost in thought. Chau-Ting Chang's sudden passing reminded him that it was time to return to his hometown.
