The original site of the new building of the Central Administrative Office was occupied by the Institute of Ethnology. After the Institute of Ethnology relocated to the new building in 1985, the old building was demolished in 1987 to make way for the new building of the Central Administrative Office (Chia-Hua Building) nowadays.
