The Institute of Botany (Now the Institute of Plant and Microbial Biology) Expanded its Building by Constructing a New Wing on the South Side of the Old Building, Inaugurated in 1985

The Institute of Plant and Microbial Biology (IPMB, formerly the Institute of Botany, renamed in 2005) had its Research Building constructed in 1974 and completed in 1975. Due to an increase in staff by 1981, the Institute needed additional space. As a result, an expansion was carried out, and the new building was completed and opened in 1985.
