On January 1, 2004, the Biodiversity Research Center was officially established, with its offices located in the Biology Building (Yellow Tile Building), completed in 1961. In 2007, the center incorporated Zoological collections and Herbarium into the "Biodiversity Research Museum of the Academia Sinica," also located in the Yellow Tile Building. In 2013, the Interdisciplinary Research Building was completed, and the Biodiversity Research Center relocated there. Meanwhile, the Zoological collections was moved to the Institute of Cellular and Organismal Biology, and the Herbarium was temporarily relocated to the White Building. It currently serves as the archives room for the Central Administrative Office, as well as offices for the Secretariat and the Department of International Affairs.
