In 1992, due to the expansion of personnel and equipment at the Institute of Ethnology, as well as the initiation of several large projects, space in the Ling Shun-Sheng Hall became insufficient. With the approval of Academia Sinica, a plan was developed to construct a new research building on the south and west sides of the Ling Shun-Sheng Hall. Construction began on August 4, 1994, and the building was completed on December 18, 1996. The photo was taken in 2021.
